Your edition of Construct-O-Set is very simple because it was targeted toward preschoolers, but it’s easy to see it has enormous potential beyond that. Unfortunately, the programmers who designed the initial version did not have the artistic capability to develop the sophisticated and challenging designs that would appeal to older children and adults. Hence, they are staging a competition to attract graphic designers capable of exploiting the game’s full potential.

The company has defined several themes – for example, Wild Animals – that need to be fleshed out with specific designs, such as Wolf, Bear, Lion, and Elephant. Your job is to develop those iPhone applications using simple shapes, add an audio file to represent the sound your object makes, and upload them to Construct-O-Set, following the submission requirements.

On September 30, 2010, the submission period will conclude. Entries will be posted online for a month to permit the public to vote for their favorites. In November, the winning entries will be announced, and the top vote-getters will be offered contracts with Construct-O-Set for the sale, marketing, and distribution of game sets featuring their winning design. And best of all, the artist garnering the most votes of all will win a Wacom Bamboo Fun graphics tablet!
